"People of Action"

Rotary is where neighbours, friends, and problem-solvers share ideas and take action to create lasting change.

About Us

Vision, Goals
and Commitment

Rotary Eclub of Greater Cape Town was chartered on July 18th, 2017, and is part of District #9350. An interesting fact about our District is that it spans more than 4000 km, making it vast from one end to the other.

Having an eClub is a way to bring everyone together through technology, not only through the expanse of our District but also from fellow Rotarians worldwide.

We proudly call our members "people of action" as we accomplish different projects locally and abroad. We also duplicate projects in the geographical areas where our members reside.

It's easy.

Our Clusters

Collaboration, Networking
and Fun

Cluster groups enhance the Rotary experience by members who are within a reasonable distance from one another. These cluster groups can then arrange face-to-face contact, fellowship, and other activities within their local area, including local service projects. It is not at the exclusion of combined activities for all members or inter-cluster activities.

If you would like to create a cluster as you have a passion that you want to shed more light on, feel free to start one, even if none of the members are in your area, as long as you find other like-minded individuals able to assist and make it happen!

Current Projects

1

Side By Side

We focus on the upskilling and empowerment of vulnerable women. It aims to provide practical skills and entrepreneurial knowledge as inter- and intra-personal skills.

By creating a training programme that focuses on the entire well-being of women, this project encourages the reinstatement of pride and integrity.

Kabouterjie is our joint ECD Project in Temperance Town, Gordons Bay with the Eclub of Hamburg Connect. Funds have been raised from two Wine Pairing events with the two clubs.

A big thank you to Johnny Joubert friend of Eclub Member Chris vd Leij who has organised the refurbishment of the school.

Hospital Beds

Josie and Glen two of our members are busy with this project.

They work together with a UK organisation to collect hospital beds, mattresses, and wheelchairs.

The next steps are transportation and organising the warehouse.

Bi-Monthly Zoom Meetings

Every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month we have Zoom gatherings to facilitate networking with our members.

We invite interesting speakers and try to make sure all members get a chance to chat with each other and share their projects and updates with us. Everyone is welcome to invite guests.

Our Newsletter

Our newsletter is created monthly by our member Robert, who puts incredible time and effort into creating this letter and thus making sure that members who missed one of our Fellowship meetings stay in the "know" at all times.

Thank you Robert!

Benefits of being a Rotarian

"The chance to do something for somebody else and to sense the self-fulfillment that comes in the process and return of that satisfaction to one's own life."
"Rotary Fellowships give members the chance to join a group of people who share similar interests, hobbies, or vocations. Some groups use their fellowship to make a positive difference."

"Friendship: In an increasingly complex world, Rotary provides one of the most basic human needs: the need for friendship and fellowship.

"Discuss your community’s needs and develop creative ways to meet them."

"Connect with other leaders who are changing the world."

"Expand your leadership and professional skills."

"Rotarian Action Groups unite Rotary members, family members, program participants and alumni who share their expertise in particular fields by collaborating with clubs and districts on projects."
"The Opportunity to Serve: Rotary is a service club. Its product is serving. Rotarians provide community service to both local and international communities."
